Know about my past and recent accomplishments and failures, current efforts, and future plans.
To do
- Build up some responsive CSS and JS RIA thingy for this personal home page.
- Link the HTML output of my M. Sc. thesis back online. Only after the english translation is available (ouch).
- Try again learning Perl.
- Earn the spanish equivalent to the british Yachtmaster Ocean license.
Stalled works
- Ncurses interface to smaps.
- CMake thing for the anura engine.
- Make my own schedule management web application, with extensive use of civil time (as in mean and true local solar time reckoned from midnight) together with geolocation.
- Learn how to write programs encoded in the DSL that the anura engine defines (the Anura engine has been declared obsolete by its founder author who is one of most active maintainers too).
In progress
- This might seem strange, I promise you it is. I'm currently probing the possibility of starting a career in Law. It's likely that I'll quit such thing somewhat soon.
I'm also more active on the Stack Exchange network than I have commonly been.
Done
- : Earning a cars driving license.
- From to : Play bass in a rock band.
-
From until
: Over five years of
miscellaneous corporate assignments using JavaScript 5 and 6,
Java 4 to 8, Python 2 and 3, POSIX Bourne compat shell, bash
shell, C99 both strict and lenient ANSI, C++98, C++11, PHP 5...
- : An NMEA GPRMC emitter for SUMO.
- : A PHP set of documents that compiled a simple visual programming language into a Drools (Java JSR 94) compliant rules document. I did that using some jQuery sources that write and appended themselves more synth jQuery sources.
- From to 2013: Quickly learning some basic Android programming principles then making an Android application wrapping POSIX shell sources that glued together the use of several arm-linux compiled C (ffmpeg) and C++98/C++11 (custom software linking static (not officially supported) OpenCV libraries) programs.
- From until : AWS infrastructure and managed services management.
- From to : ETL duties.
- From to : ESR duties related to filesystem, memory and CPU use monitoring using POSIX shell. Mainly sending metrics to a Node application coded at the office by a colleague.
- : More ETL duties. Data base migrations (ORACLE to PostgreSQL).
- 2015: Earning the spanish equivalent to the british Yachtmaster Coastal license.
- 2016: Coding a multi-stash patch for `gitk` (TCL).
- 2016: Becoming the corporate blogger of the company. Unbranded complete edits and translations of those articles and misc writing will be pasted or linked in the portfolio page at some point. There is a small demo excerpt there.
- 2017: Earn the spanish equivalent to the british Yachtmaster Offshore license.
- 2017: Collaborated a little bit to The Battle For Wesnoth code base.
- 2017-2018: Collaborated little bits to the source code of the Anura Engine. Some humble features and some humble bug fixes.
- 2017-2018: Collaborated a little bit to the source code of the Argentum Age video game. Also contributed some visual effects.
- 2018: Wrote an `htop` patch for showing processes trees' cumulative percentages of CPU time. It's horribly written, in a rush, without properly modifying the program's existing data structures, only adding a minimal modification to those, but gets the work done.
